Location: North East Wales

Duration: 5 days

Cost: £1600 inc VAT

Level: Intermediate / Advanced

Details: Hosted from our small village in beautiful North East Wales, this five day course is for those who want to know everything about flying drones and running a drone business.

You will be taught by pilots who have worked on live sporting events, flown on the World Rally Championship and on productions for Red Bull and Ferrari.

Through a mix of classroom and flying field sessions we will show you our way of working, how to get exciting shots whilst staying safe and not crashing. If you currently fly single operator we will teach you how to move to a two person crew or if you are already working dual operator you will learn how to work effectively to create even more dynamic shots.

The classroom sessions will cover camera setups for photography and film. We will talk about how to work with clients and understanding roles on film sets. We will look at equipment maintenance so you can manage your fleet to ensure maximum up-time. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and we will happily talk through our experience of operating in restricted airspace, in congested areas and restricted zones. We will cover the wide range of uses for drones from working on TV and Film sets and industrial uses of drones for asset inspection and mapping and modelling.

We will cover topics such as running a drone business, how to get clients, showreels and how much to charge.

You will leave the course with renewed confidence and skill to go out and get creative and dynamic shots and begin working on a killer showreel to attract new clients.

We aim for 50% classroom and 50% flying. We encourage you to bring your own drone but we will have a selection of our own fleet for you to try out too.

You will have chance to try out flying our complete fleet of drones including:

DJI Mini 3

DJI Mavic 3

DJI Inspire 3 - Dual Operator

DJI Avata 2 FPV drone

Skydio S2+

And FPV Flying our Cinewoops and Racing Drones

Each day will begin at 9am and finish around 4pm

What is included?

All course instruction with two Eastwood Media Pilots, refreshments and lunch are included.

How many people will be on the course?

We limit courses to a maximum of 6 attendees. This means everyone gets plenty of time to fly with a ratio of never more than 4:1.

Do I need to bring a drone?

Whilst it is not a requirement to bring a drone, we do encourage you to if you have one as we can give you specific instructions on the model you own. We do have drones you can fly.

Is there accommodation nearby?

We are fortunate to be based in a very beautiful area of North Wales, not far from Llangollen and Chester. We can provide you with a list of accommodation providers nearby.

What about the weather?

Based in Wales the weather can be a little unpredictable at times! However, we’ve designed the course to be as flexible as possible with inside and outside elements so if it is raining we’ll move things around. If we can see that it’s likely to rain for the duration of the course then we’ll notify you 48hrs before the course is due to start and we will give you a place on the next available course.
